Sunshine Returns on Friday
Hello, I’m Storm Team 9 Chief Meteorologist David Sawyer. An area of low pressure offshore continues to produce a few rain showers for the coast tonight. The best chance of rain will be along the Crystal Coast and Onslow County beaches. Farther inland, expect mostly cloudy skies with overnight lows in the low to mid 40s.
This area of low pressure will move away from our coast on Friday. This will allow sunshine to return to eastern North Carolina. Enjoy a very pleasant end to our work week with afternoon highs near 70 inland and mid 60s at the beach.
This weekend, sunny skies will be gorgeous on Saturday, which is the first official day of spring. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s inland and mid 60s at the beach will be very pleasant.
Saturday night will be cool with lows in the upper 40s.
A cold front will approach us on Sunday. This will cause a few more clouds with a slight chance of a shower late in the day. High temperatures ahead of the front will still be pleasant with highs in the lower 70s inland and mid 60s at the beach.
Sunday night into Monday, there will be a good chance of showers and possible thunderstorms. Storm Team 9 will keep you posted on the rain chances.
